Joe Alvarado

Joe Alvarado has been a proud resident of Melvindale since 1992. He is happily married to the love of his life, Michelle. Joe and Michelle have two wonderful children, Alex and Tia. Joe is a graduate of Lincoln Park High School and has attended the University of Michigan – Dearborn. Joe is a Police Sergeant with the Wayne County Airport Authority and has been a Police Officer since 1988. During his career he also served as a Union Stewart for the Police Patrol Union Local 502 and is a current union member of the Sergeant and Lieutenants Union Local 3317. Joe has been an active leader within the Melvindale community for several years.

Joe has served on the Melvindale Parks and Recreation Commission. He has also worked with several private community youth groups including Melvindale Athletic Club, where he has served as Vice President, President, and Safety Officer. Joe has also been involved with the Melvindale Junior Football Club for several years. Joe also volunteers his time with national charities including the Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Miracle Network and the Make a Wish Foundation. Joe’s concerns for children have driven him to make a difference not only in our community but nationally as well. It is this passion for children that will push him to make Melvindale a great place to raise your family.
