Mission Statement:

The mission of the Melvindale Chamber of Commerce is to retain and attract jobs and investment in Melvindale, improve the economic vitality of the city, and assist member firms in competing in local, national, and international markets.

Membership:

Any person, association, corporation, or partnership having interest in the objectives of the organization is eligible for membership.

Dues for membership are as follows:

Industrial		10+ employees		$150
Professional		1-10 employees		$75
Commercial		1-10 employees		$75
Civic		Service organizations		$50
Individual		Non voting position		$25

Discounts and Incentives:

Verizon Wireless	5% discount on any services $35 or greater
LDMI	Local and long distance phone service for business or residential numbers, including member employees.
Office Depot	Discounts vary by item, generally 4% on Office Depot list prices. Online shopping and delivery to your door with orders over $50.
Fifth Third Bank	Merchant services at reduced rates.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield	Varied health plans.
Hartford Insurance	Workman Comp Plans and Commercial Liability Plans.

Members may offer their products and services to other chamber members at reduced rates.

Projects:

The Melvindale Chamber of Commerce “adopts” families at the Christmas season and provides gifts for the holiday. We work in conjunction with St. Conrad Church who provides the food portion for each family and makes the deliveries.

Also we offer two $500 scholarships to two Melvindale/Northern Allen Park Seniors who are pursuing a business related field. Each student who applies must meet the criteria listed in the scholarship application. The high school receives the information and is responsible for its distribution.
